«Hereward The Wake (c.1070), personaje para Saga (Studio Tomahawk-Gripping Beast), opuso resistencia contra los normandos tras la derrota anglosajona de Hastings, ocultándose junto a su banda en zonas pantanosas. En el escudo no he querido pintar nada suntuoso, madera pintada directamente en rojo, simulando las vetas sobre el escudo plano, para remarcar la sencillez del noble proscrito.»

«Hereward The Wake (c.1070) Saga character (Studio Tomahawk-Gripping Beast), offered resistance against the Normans after the Anglo-Saxon Hastings defeat, hiding with his band in swampy areas. In the shield I did not want to paint anything sumptuous, red painted wood directly simulating the grain on the flat shield, to highlight the simplicity of the outlawed nobleman.»
